Coventry High School
The Coventry School District is located in Kent County, approximately 19 miles southwest of Providence, the capital city of Rhode Island. The population of the town is approximately 34,500. The town is suburban with a large rural area in the western part of the town bordering the state of Connecticut. Coventry High School offers grade 9 through 12 with comprehensive, flexible block-scheduled.The school also houses the Regional Career and Technical Center which offers eleven approved programs. There are currently 154 faculty members and all are certified by the RI Department of Education. Of the 154 faculty, 10 teachers are national board certified. Most faculty members hold masters’ degrees or the equivalent. The staff also includes six full-time guidance counselors, a librarian, school nurse, 2 social workers and two school psychologists. There are 28 teachers involved in full-time special education and resource programs.

EARLY COLLEGE ENROLLMENT PROGRAM
Coventry High School is designated as a concurrent enrollment partner with Rhode Island College which provides students the opportunity to earn both high school and college credit in designated courses. Once a student successfully completes an EEP course, the grade and credits earned automatically become part of a Rhode Island College transcript that can be transferred to accepting colleges and/or universities.
SPECIAL CREDIT PROGRAMS
- Internships and Work Experience: 1.0 or .5 credit
- Fundamentals of Chemistry course (1 credit); when combined with Chemistry Enhancement (.5 credit), fulfills college chemistry requirement
- Intro to Language A/B is a two year course equivalent to Level one of the college language requirement
Accredited by NEASC, certified by the State of Rhode Island, and a participating member in the College Entrance Examination Board and College Scholarship Service. The school is a member of the Rhode Island Interscholastic League.
Coventry offers standards-based, college preparatory, and Career and Technical educational programs in 11 areas. Courses aligned with Common Core Standards.
