Summer Programs at RIA

Whether it’s academics, entrepreneurship, or the arts, RIA has summer programs designed to meet your students’ needs. Select from our predesigned summer camp packages or custom design your RIA summer camp experience by selecting from the options below. All camps require a minimum two-week stay. All camps include housing, meals, and transportation.

 

RISD|CE Young Artist Summer Program (Ages 13-17)

Improve your art and design skills while enhancing your portfolio in RIA Global Education’s two-week Young Artist Summer Program! Spend your days at RISD and your nights at RIA. At RISD|CE, students between the ages of 13 and 17 years-old participate in two courses from one, or several, of the various content areas: product design, interior design, illustration, animation, graphic design, interactive design, photography and movie making. Students in this Program attend RISD|CE classes with students from the U.S. and around the globe. Young Artists’ classes meet from 9AM to 12PM and from 1PM to 4PM, Monday-Friday. On the weekend, students visit the MFA in Boston and the Wrentham Outlets. Included in our Base Arts Package, students receive one admissions and portfolio review session, with a RISD admissions officer, and a RISD tour. At RIA, students will apply their learned art and design skills to completing nightly challenges that will foster the development of leadership, collaborative, and problem solving abilities.

For those students interested in applying to top U.S. art and design colleges, we have our Extended Arts Package that includes all the services identified in the Base Arts Package plus two additional evening lecture/portfolio review sessions, with professional artists and RISD instructors, and two design studio tours, led by local design companies and artist collaboratives. Art sessions include group lectures and one-to-one detailed portfolio reviews, while design studio tours allow students to see behind the scenes of the corporate design world. With the Extended Package, you also tour the top New England colleges: Harvard, Brown, Yale, MIT and more.

RISD|CE College Arts Summer Program (Ages 18+)

Hone your art and design skills while perfecting your portfolio in RIA Global Education’s 2-week College Arts Summer Program! Spend your days at RISD and your nights at RIA. At RISD|CE, students 18 years-old and older participate in two courses from one, or several, of the various content areas: product design, interior design, illustration, animation, graphic design, interactive design, photography and movie making. Studentsin this Program attend customized classes designed to be more intensive, intended for college ready learners. These classes require a higher level of art and design skill and awareness and prepare students for college admissions. 18+ classes meet from 9AM to 12PM and from 1PM to 4PM, Monday-Friday. On the weekend, students visit the MFA in Boston and the Wrentham Outlets. Included in our Base Arts Package, students receive one graduate admissions and portfolio review session, with a RISD admissions officer, and a RISD tour. At RIA, students will apply their learned art and design skills to completing nightly challenges that will foster the development of leadership, collaborative, and problem solving abilities.

RIA Young Scholar Summer Program (Ages 12-16)

Improve your academic skills and expand your content knowledge while discovering your leadership potential in RIA Global Education’s Young Scholar Summer Program! Attend camps at one of our prestigious partner day schools with a rich history such as Moses Brown and Providence Country Day. With one of the most beautiful and technically advanced campuses in the state, Moses Brown offers an education that combines rigorous academics with an unwavering commitment to integrity. The school has a history dating back 230 years with direct links to Brown University that continue to advance the educational programs available to students today. At Providence Country Day, students grade 6-12 are part of a community dedicated to inspiring lives of engaged citizenship. PCD students get together each day to learn how to talk, listen, study, play, try, fail, perform, win, lose, socialize, reflect, and start again. PCD is dedicated to creating a values system and community character in which high achievement is not attained at the expense of kindness and humanity.The Young Scholar Program offers a wide range of camps covering many content areas including:

  • Arts and Exploration
  • Leadership and Environmental Arts
  • Forensic Science
  • Robotics
  • Culinary Arts
  • Sailing
  • Various Sports

Other content areas may be available so if you have a special request, please let us know.

Students in this Program attend classes with students from the U.S. All classes meet from 9AM to 3PM, Monday-Friday. On the weekend, students visit popular historical and culturally relevant areas such as the Newport Mansions and Block Island. In addition, leisure time is provided for shopping at local malls.
